Hillary Clinton celebrates gay rights as human rights in powerful new Pride video

Presidential hopeful’s message features same-sex couples getting married or being proposed to

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton on Wednesday (24 June) released a Pride month video celebrating same-sex love and marriage.

Speaking over footage of marriage proposals or of wedding ceremonies, Clinton says: ‘Being LGBT does not make you less human. And that is why gay rights are human rights. And human rights are gay rights.’

The former US Senator, Secretary of State and First Lady also points out that barriers to ‘the full measure of liberty, full experience of dignity and full benefits of humanity have fallen away.’

Clinton pays tribute to those who have worked so hard for equality.

‘New chapters are being written by men and women who believe that all of us – not just some of us – should have the chance to live up to our God given potential.’
