Jason Dottley takes a moment to chat with VIP Magazine

Right before his LIVE show in New Orleans, and right after filming the World Record Breaking Music Video for “Cocaine & Whiskey”, the talented Jason Dottley shares with VIP Magazine

Jason-Dottley’s Interview with VIP Magazine New Orleans You captured the world with your role on Sordid Lives: The Series. What is your fondest memory of working on that project?

Everyone got along so well in our cast of Sordid Lives that I’d have to say my fondest memory is one of feeling like I was at home. I was doing exactly what I had dreamed of doing my whole life, with two of my idols (Rue McClanahan and Caroline Rhea), and every moment was epic to me.

You are clearly a gifted actor, comedian, and musician, do you enjoy one area of entertainment over the other?

Thank you! I love the magic of being on a set for TV, but I also love the rush of live theatre and performing music. I can’t pick one!

What is different about your one man show as opposed to other one man shows that have come to town? What can the audience expect?

My show “Life on the gAy-List” is a unique one-man show because this isn’t how my fans know me. This isn’t the type of move someone with a certain pop star image to uphold would usually make. I’m getting real with everyone. Telling stories that most everyone can relate to, but through my experience as a gay celebrity. And most of the stories about myself are pretty self-deprecating. But that is real life. I am the BOSS one day, and the guy shamelessly telling his most embarrassing stories to live audiences another. The dichotomy is rather beautiful.

Why did you choose New Orleans as one of your stops on the tour?

I have been performing in New Orleans for years. From being your NOLA Pride Grand Marshall and headlining the Pride Street Concert, to countless club shows at Oz (which happens to be one of my favorite gay clubs in the country and they take excellent care of me), and now my second show at the All Ways Lounge. I love the historical beauty of the city and the energy of my fans there. I also never miss breakfast at Who Dat Coffee Cafe, never!

Can you tell the VIP readers something about Jason that most people wouldn’t know?

You want to know something about me that people don’t know? Well then buy a ticket to my show. I don’t think I have any secrets left. I jerk off every single morning before breakfast. I don’t think that’s common knowledge. 🙂

What’s next for Jason in 2015-2016?

This year has been amazingly crazy! After New Orleans, I have tour stops through the end of the year with Life on the gAy-List. I’m also hosting a weeklong event called “Jason Dottley’s Big Gay Ibiza”, in Ibiza in September. Earlier this month, I set the world record for having the most expensive collection of cars ever in a music video, which featured about $25 million dollars’ worth of exotic cars. It was featured in Yahoo Finance and several other media outlets. The music video is for my single, “Cocaine and Whiskey”, which comes out mid-September. I will be filming my one man show on October 3rd, and I’m producing and starring in a new feature film called “Husband-In-Law”, which I’m seeking a few more investors for (wink wink). I am also moving back to LA. That’s what I have planned through the fall. I’m a busy, busy show boy!

Thanks Jason for all the insight and we can’t wait to see your show!
